Where Does Gente de Zona Live in Florida? The Duo's Miami Homes

September 21, 2026 · 8 min read · By Onias Derilus, Broker

Gente de Zona, the Cuban duo behind La Gozadera and Bailando, has been based in Miami since the mid-2010s. Alexander Delgado bought a house in southwest Miami in 2017 for $1.7 million and listed it at $3.8 million in 2022 before pulling it. Reporting on Randy Malcom's home is thinner. Here is the record and what the area costs.

Where does Gente de Zona live? Both members of the Cuban duo, Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcom, live in Miami. The city became their base after they left Havana in the mid-2010s. The best-documented home is Delgado's. It is a modern five-bedroom house in southwest Miami that he bought in 2017 for $1.7 million and listed for $3.8 million in 2022. Reporting on Malcom's house is thin. Here is what the record shows for each, and what homes in that part of the county cost.

Key takeaways

  • Southwest Miami: Delgado's house sits in the southwest part of the city, per CiberCuba, in an area of newer single-family homes rather than on the water.
  • Bought for $1.7 million in 2017, listed at $3.8 million in May 2022: the listing later came off the market without a reported sale, per Asere.
  • About 4,500 square feet with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, 12-foot ceilings, a pool and a mini golf green, per the listing details CiberCuba reported.
  • City of Miami median list price is about $639,000 on more than 11,000 listings, per our MLS feed as of September 2026.

Where does Gente de Zona live in Florida?

Gente de Zona lives in Miami, in Miami-Dade County. The duo formed in Havana in 2000, but their career changed in 2014 when Bailando, their song with Enrique Iglesias, became a global hit. La Gozadera with Marc Anthony followed in 2015. By then both members had settled in Miami. The city is the center of the Latin music business and home to the largest Cuban community outside the island.

Alexander Delgado's house is the one with a paper trail. CiberCuba reported in May 2022 that he had put his southwest Miami home on the market for $3.8 million. That is more than double the $1.7 million he paid in 2017. Southwest Miami covers a large area of mostly suburban neighborhoods between Coral Gables and the Everglades. It is not the celebrity waterfront of Miami Beach. It is where much of the county's Cuban-American middle class and many of its Cuban entertainers live.

Randy Malcom lives in Miami too. CiberCuba reported that he was also planning to sell his house in 2022, citing sources close to the duo. It gave no price, size or neighborhood. We could not find a later report confirming a sale or a new purchase. Pure Equity does not publish private addresses in any case.

Inside the reported Delgado home

The 2022 listing gave a clear picture of Delgado's house. CiberCuba described just over 4,500 square feet with five bedrooms, each with a closet, and six bathrooms. The style is modern: open kitchen, 12-foot ceilings, white walls, porcelain floors and quartz counters. The home has LED lighting, smart wiring and a video surveillance system.

Outside there is a pool, several terraces, a large parking area and a small putting green, which is the detail most outlets picked up. Yahoo Noticias called the house the point of La Gozadera, a nod to the party the duo sings about. Goldpen Realty Group handled the listing, per CiberCuba.

The math on the sale was the news. Delgado paid $1.7 million in 2017 and asked $3.8 million five years later, a gain of $2.1 million on paper. A source told CiberCuba that he planned to sell because Miami prices had climbed so far. The idea was to buy land and build a custom house instead. Then the listing disappeared. Asere reported that the house came off the market without explanation. Whether he sold it privately, rented it or simply stayed is not in the public record.

The Malcom house has no comparable listing history that we found. YouTube house tours exist for both members, but a video is not a public record, so we do not treat those as sources for numbers.

Why Gente de Zona chose Miami

The reason is the same one behind most Latin music moves to South Florida, with a Cuban twist. Miami is where the labels, producers and Spanish-language networks are. For Cuban artists in particular, it is also the only major market where they can work without the political limits they faced at home. Randy Malcom put it plainly to Cuba en Miami. He went out to find his dreams because, for political reasons, he could not find them at home.

The duo's biggest years coincided with the move. Bailando won three Latin Grammys in 2014 and La Gozadera followed in 2015. Both were recorded and promoted from Miami with local partners, including Marc Anthony's label. Living in the city put them next to the people they made those records with.

Southwest Miami in particular suits an artist who wants a large new house without a waterfront price. Delgado's 4,500-square-foot home on a lot with a pool and parking cost $1.7 million in 2017. The same money would not have bought a lot on the bay.

The pattern holds across the Cuban music scene in Miami. Newer arrivals tend to buy in the western and southwestern suburbs first, near family and the Cuban-American core of the county. A move to the water, if it comes, comes later. Delgado's 2017 purchase fits the first step of that path.

Where else does Gente de Zona live?

No home outside Miami is reported for either member. Both were born and raised in Havana, and both have said they cannot work freely in Cuba, so there is no reported residence on the island. Their tours cover Latin America, Spain and the United States, but reporting places both homes in Miami.

The open question is where Delgado went after 2022. The stated plan was to buy land and build. If he did, it likely means a larger lot in southwest Miami-Dade, Doral or the western suburbs. Custom builds on acreage are still possible there. But that is the plan he described, not a reported purchase, so we will not name a place.

What homes near Gente de Zona cost

The City of Miami is the largest market in our MLS feed. As of September 2026 it shows more than 11,000 active listings with a median list price of about $639,000 and an average of around 130 days on market. That median blends everything from downtown condos to large suburban houses. A single number understates the range in the southwest neighborhoods.

A house like Delgado's, new construction of about 4,500 square feet with a pool on a large lot, sits well above that median. His 2022 asking price of $3.8 million was at the top of the range for a non-waterfront home in the area. That may be why it did not trade at that price. The 2017 purchase price of $1.7 million is closer to what a large modern house in the southwest sold for before the pandemic run-up.

Buyers who want that kind of house can start with our pool homes and new construction collections, or the broader luxury homes page. Owners of similar homes should note the Delgado listing as a lesson in pricing. A big ask in a hot market can still sit if buyers do not see the value.
