Where Does Priscilla Chan Live in Florida? The Indian Creek Estate and the Move

September 21, 2026 · 8 min read · By Onias Derilus, Broker

Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg closed on a $170 million Indian Creek Island estate in March 2026, but Forbes still lists Palo Alto as home. Here is what reporting says about the house, the planned move, and what nearby homes cost.

Where does Priscilla Chan live? The pediatrician and philanthropist, together with her husband Mark Zuckerberg, closed on a $170 million estate on Indian Creek Island in Miami-Dade County in March 2026. The home was still under construction at closing. Their long-time base is Palo Alto, California, and Forbes still lists that as their residence. So the honest answer is: they own the most expensive home ever sold in Miami-Dade, and the move-in is still in progress. Here is what has been reported.

Key takeaways

  • Indian Creek Village, Miami-Dade County: a guarded island of 41 home sites in Biscayne Bay, reached by one bridge from Surfside.
  • Reported price and year: $170 million, closed March 2, 2026, a record for a single home in the county.
  • Reported size: plans call for about 30,000 square feet and nine bedrooms on a roughly two-acre bayfront site.
  • Other homes: Palo Alto, Lake Tahoe, and Kauai remain in the family portfolio, per Fox Business.

Where does Priscilla Chan live in Florida?

The Florida home is on Indian Creek Island, a village of its own inside Miami-Dade County. Wikipedia lists 41 residential home sites and a 2020 population of 84. Most of the island is the Indian Creek Country Club and its golf course, which dates to 1930. The village has its own government and its own police force. Cars reach it by one bridge from Surfside, and there is a single private road that loops the island.

The Real Deal reported that Zuckerberg and Chan closed on their estate there on March 2, 2026. The price was $170 million. That beat the prior county record, developer Vlad Doronin's $120 million Star Island sale in 2025. Bloomberg and Robb Report carried the same figure.

Chan's name appears on the deal in most coverage, not just her husband's. That fits how the couple has handled property and philanthropy since 2015, when they set up the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative as a joint venture. The Real Deal and Yahoo both described the purchase as a joint one. For a reader, that means the estate is a family home in the plain sense, and not a corporate holding parked in Florida.

Pure Equity does not publish private addresses. This post names the island and the side of it that reporting has mentioned, and nothing more. Our Indian Creek page and the Miami-Dade County page show the wider market. For the deal itself, see our earlier post on Mark Zuckerberg's record purchase. This post covers Chan's side of the story and the residency question.

Inside the reported Indian Creek estate

The couple bought a home that did not yet exist as a finished house. The Real Deal described an under-construction estate on a roughly two-acre site on the island's west side. Plans call for about 30,000 square feet, nine bedrooms, a gym, a hair salon, and a 1,500-gallon aquarium. Robb Report reported that the design is by Ferris Rafauli, and that the property had listed for $200 million in November 2025.

The Real Deal identified the sellers as Dr. Aaron Rollins, a cosmetic surgeon, and his wife Marine Rollins, a real estate agent. An earlier Fox Business report, before closing, had tied the property to a different seller. The closing report is the better source, and we use it here.

Two things follow from buying a house mid-build. First, the finished size and finishes are plans, not measurements, until the county signs off. Second, the family cannot have moved in on closing day. Fox Business reported in February 2026 that the plan was to move in by April. No outlet has confirmed that they did.

Why Priscilla Chan chose Indian Creek

Neither Chan nor Zuckerberg has explained the purchase in public. Reporting has offered two threads. One is privacy. Fortune described the island as a place with round-the-clock police patrols by land and sea, a guarded bridge, and landscaping planted to block views from the water. Every sale there happens off market. For a family with three young children and a very public father, that is the obvious draw.

The other thread is tax. Fox Business and Fortune both tied the timing to a proposed California measure that would put a one-time 5 percent tax on the net worth of billionaires who lived in the state at the start of 2026. Fortune quoted a real estate executive saying that "people like Zuckerberg plan three moves ahead." We note the reporting and leave the politics out of it. Whether the couple changes residency is a legal and personal decision, and no filing has surfaced.

Has the family moved to Florida yet?

This is the part most posts skip. As of September 2026, the Forbes profile for Zuckerberg still lists the residence as Palo Alto, California. Forbes updates that field when it has evidence of a move, and it has not. Chan's own work is also rooted in the Bay Area. She co-founded the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative with her husband in 2015, and its Biohub research sites and its leadership team sit in California.

So the Indian Creek estate is, for now, a home they own and are finishing, rather than a home they live in. That could change in a season. A 30,000-square-foot custom build can take a year or more after purchase, and the plan Fox Business reported already slipped past April without a public update.

Where else does Priscilla Chan live?

Fox Business listed three other family homes: a compound in Palo Alto, a property at Lake Tahoe, and a large ranch on Kauai in Hawaii. Palo Alto has been the primary residence through the couple's marriage, and it is where their children have gone to school. The Tahoe and Kauai properties read as retreats in most coverage. None of the three has been reported as for sale.

That matters for anyone reading the Miami headline as a full relocation. Owning a record-setting home in Florida is a fact. Living there full time is a separate fact, and the second one has not been reported yet.

What homes near Priscilla Chan cost

Indian Creek is not a market in the normal sense. Our MLS feed as of September 2026 shows zero active listings on the island, which is typical. With 41 home sites and off-market trades, a listing there is news by itself. Fortune reported that the country club's initiation fee is $500,000, and that membership is by invitation.

The closest open markets are across the bridge. In Surfside, the feed shows about 129 active listings with a median asking price near $1.1 million. In Bal Harbour, it shows about 155 listings and a median near $2.7 million. Bayfront single-family homes in either town sit well above those medians. You can compare them to waterfront homes across the region, or to the gated communities that offer some of the same privacy on the mainland.

Frequently asked questions

Where does Priscilla Chan live now?

Forbes lists the family residence as Palo Alto, California. They also own the Indian Creek Island estate in Miami-Dade County, which was still under construction when they bought it in March 2026.

Where on Indian Creek does Priscilla Chan live?

Reporting places the estate on the west side of the island, on Biscayne Bay, a few doors from Jeff Bezos's holdings. We do not publish the lot or the address.

Where does Priscilla Chan live full time?

As of the latest reporting, Palo Alto is the full-time home. The Indian Creek estate is a purchase with a planned move, and the move has not been confirmed.

How much did Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg pay for the Indian Creek home?

$170 million, according to The Real Deal, Bloomberg, and Robb Report. The property had listed for $200 million in November 2025.

Can you buy a home on Indian Creek?

Only rarely. The island has 41 home sites and no gate to a public market. Sales happen through direct contact between owners and agents. Fortune reported that prices start around $60 million.

Is Indian Creek part of Miami Beach?

No. Indian Creek Village is its own municipality, incorporated in 1939, with its own council and police. Mail and maps often say Miami Beach because the bridge lands in Surfside, just north of it. On a deed, the village name is the one that counts.

Who else lives on Indian Creek Island?

Reported residents include Jeff Bezos, Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Carl Icahn, and Julio Iglesias. Our roundup of celebrities who live in South Florida has the wider list.
