Where Does Jason Taylor Live in Florida? Inside His Plantation Home and the Weston Estate He Sold

September 21, 2026 · 8 min read · By Onias Derilus, Broker

Jason Taylor has lived in western Broward County since his Dolphins playing days. He sold a 10,000-square-foot estate in Weston in 2017 for $3.2 million, about $400,000 less than he paid, and now lives in a five-bedroom home in Plantation, according to The Real Deal. Here is what reporting says about both homes and what the neighborhoods cost.

Where does Jason Taylor live? In Plantation, Florida, a suburb in central Broward County, in a five-bedroom home of about 4,350 square feet, according to The Real Deal. The Hall of Fame defensive end spent most of his 15-season career with the Miami Dolphins. He never left the area. For years his base was a large estate in Weston, which he sold in 2017. Here is what public reporting says about both homes, why he has stayed in western Broward, and what houses around him cost today.

Key takeaways

  • Plantation, Broward County. The Real Deal's 2020 survey of NFL homes placed him in a five-bedroom, 4,352-square-foot house there. Pure Equity does not publish private addresses.
  • The Weston estate sold for $3.2 million in 2017. He had paid $3.6 million for it in 2006, per The Real Deal, so the sale came in about $400,000 below his cost.
  • That house was big: 10,247 square feet with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a pool and a home theater, per the listing coverage.
  • A second Plantation home in the Hawks Landing community went to Katina Taylor in 2014 for more than $1.3 million, per The Real Deal.

Where does Jason Taylor live in Florida?

Taylor arrived in South Florida in 1997 as a third-round pick out of Akron. He played 13 of his 15 seasons with the Dolphins, made six Pro Bowls, and entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Through all of it he lived in the western suburbs of Broward County, first in Weston and then in Plantation.

The current home is the Plantation house. The Real Deal, in a January 2020 roundup of where NFL stars live in South Florida, described it as a five-bedroom home of 4,352 square feet. That is a comfortable family house rather than a mansion, and about 40 percent the size of the Weston estate he left. No price has been reported for it.

Plantation sits between Fort Lauderdale and Weston, along I-595. It has a large stock of gated golf and lake communities built in the 1980s and 1990s. It is a short drive to both the Dolphins' training facility in Miami Gardens and the private schools where many former players coach. Taylor has coached high school football in Broward and joined the Dolphins' staff as a pass-rush coach in 2024. Both jobs keep him close to home.

Inside the reported Plantation home

Details on the current house are thin, because it never went through a public celebrity listing. The 2020 Real Deal piece gave the bedroom count and the square footage and nothing more. Plantation homes of that size typically sit on a quarter to half an acre, often on a lake or a golf course. But we have no reporting on the lot or the amenities, so we will not describe them.

There is a second Plantation property in the family record. In May 2014 The Real Deal reported that Katina Taylor bought a five-bedroom, 4,500-square-foot home in Hawks Landing, a gated community off Broward Boulevard, for more than $1.3 million. The couple divorced the following year, which was widely reported at the time. Whether the Hawks Landing house and the home in the 2020 roundup are the same property is not clear from the reporting. We do not assume it.

The Weston estate he sold

The house most people picture when they think of Taylor is the Weston one. He bought it in 2006, the year he won NFL Defensive Player of the Year, for $3.6 million, per The Real Deal. It ran to 10,247 square feet with seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Coverage of the 2017 listing described a pool, a home theater, a large kitchen and a long driveway. The lot sits near the equestrian section of the city.

He sold it in August 2017 for $3.2 million to a private couple, The Real Deal reported. That is a loss of about $400,000 before costs, which is common for large custom homes in Weston. Buyers there in the late 2010s paid a premium for new construction, and 2006-era estates often sold below their original price. Orlando Weekly ran a photo tour of the house after the sale.

The timing tracks with his life. He retired after the 2011 season, went through a divorce in 2015, and entered the Hall of Fame the same summer he sold. A seven-bedroom house makes less sense for one adult than for a young family.

Why Jason Taylor chose western Broward

He has not given interviews about real estate, so the reasons come from the record. Western Broward was the Dolphins' neighborhood during his playing years. Dan Marino built in Weston in 1995, and a long list of teammates followed. The city is planned, gated and quiet, with A-rated schools, and it sits about 30 minutes from the stadium. For a player with three children, it was the default choice.

Plantation offers the same suburban pattern at a lower price and closer to Fort Lauderdale. His foundation, the Jason Taylor Foundation, runs its reading programs in Broward schools, and his coaching work has been in the county. In short, his life is here, and the homes follow it.

Where does Jason Taylor live when not in Plantation?

No second home has been reported. He grew up in Pittsburgh and played college football in Akron, Ohio, but public records coverage has not shown a property in either place. During the NFL season his workdays are at the Dolphins' facility in Miami Gardens, about 25 miles from Plantation. He also appears on CBS Miami's preseason broadcasts, which are produced locally.

So the honest answer is that Plantation is the only home on the record. That makes him unusual among former stars, many of whom keep a house in their hometown or a second one on the coast. If a second property surfaces in reporting, we will add it.
