Where Does Jorge Mas Live in Florida? Inside His Gables Estates Home

September 21, 2026 · 9 min read · By Onias Derilus, Broker

Jorge Mas, the MasTec chairman and managing owner of Inter Miami, bought a waterfront home in Gables Estates in Coral Gables for a reported $75 million. Here is what is reported about that house, the three trophy properties he sold to get there, and what homes in Coral Gables cost now.

Where does Jorge Mas live? The Inter Miami owner and MasTec chairman lives in Coral Gables, Florida, in the gated waterfront community of Gables Estates. In January 2026 The Real Deal reported that he paid about $75 million for a new eight-bedroom home there, a record for the city. That purchase closed a busy year. Before it, he sold three trophy properties for more than $145 million combined. Here is what public reporting says about the house, the homes he left behind, and the market around them.

Key takeaways

  • Gables Estates in Coral Gables is where Mas now lives, in a waterfront home on a 1.2-acre lot.
  • He paid a reported $75 million in late 2025, which The Real Deal called a record for Coral Gables.
  • The house has about 15,400 square feet, eight bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and three half baths, and was finished in 2025.
  • He sold three other properties first: a Coconut Grove lot for more than $100 million, a Coral Gables mansion for $32 million and a Pinecrest home for $14 million.

Where does Jorge Mas live in Florida?

Jorge Mas lives in Coral Gables, the planned city just southwest of downtown Miami. His neighborhood is Gables Estates, a private, gated community of roughly 200 homes on deep-water canals that open to Biscayne Bay. It is one of the two or three priciest neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County, along with Indian Creek and Star Island.

He is not new to the area. Mas grew up in Miami, the son of Cuban exile leader Jorge Mas Canosa, and MasTec has its headquarters in Coral Gables. Over the past five years he has owned homes in Coconut Grove, Pinecrest and the Riviera section of Coral Gables. Every one of them sat on the water. Gables Estates is the latest stop. It may also be the last for a while, since the home is new construction rather than a renovation project.

Inside the reported Gables Estates home

The Real Deal broke the story of the purchase in January 2026. Public records showed a quit-claim deed recorded in late December 2025 without a price. Sources told the outlet that Mas paid $75 million. That figure beat the previous Coral Gables record. It also ranked among the most expensive single-family deals in South Florida that year.

The house itself is big even by Gables Estates standards. Reporting puts it at about 15,400 square feet with eight bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and three half baths. The lot covers 1.2 waterfront acres. Builders finished it in 2025, so Mas bought a brand-new home rather than a teardown. That matters here, because many buyers pay for the lot and then spend years building.

No outlet has published interior photos or a floor plan tied to the sale, so we cannot describe the finishes. What we can say is that the price per square foot, roughly $4,900, sits well above the Coral Gables average. Waterfront frontage in Gables Estates drives that premium more than the house does.

The homes he sold on the way there

Mas funded the move with three sales in quick succession. First came the biggest. In early December 2025 The Real Deal reported that a company tied to him sold a 7.3-acre waterfront lot in Coconut Grove. The land sits next to the Kampong botanical garden, and the price topped $100 million. The outlet described it as a flip, and the buyer was not identified at the time.

Two weeks later he sold his Riviera Drive mansion in Coral Gables for $32 million. That home had about 13,500 square feet, six bedrooms and six bathrooms on a 1.6-acre lot along the Coral Gables Waterway. Records cited by The Real Deal show his trust bought it for $19.4 million in 2021. So the sale returned a gain of about $12.6 million in four years.

Earlier, in January 2024, he sold a home in Pinecrest for $14 million, which The Real Deal called a record for that village. And in April 2021 he sold a waterfront Coconut Grove mansion for close to $46 million to Roger and Sloan Barnett. Islander News called that a record deal for the area at the time. Taken together, the pattern is clear: buy waterfront, hold a few years, sell high, move up.

Why Jorge Mas chose Coral Gables

Mas has never given an interview about his housing choices, so the reasons come from context rather than quotes. The first is work. MasTec, the engineering and construction company his father founded, is based in Coral Gables. Mas has served as its chairman since 1998. Living in Gables Estates puts him minutes from the office.

The second is the soccer club. Mas is managing owner of Inter Miami CF alongside his brother Jose and David Beckham. The club plays in Fort Lauderdale for now, and its long-planned stadium at Miami Freedom Park sits near Miami International Airport. Both are an easy drive from Coral Gables. The third reason is family. Jose Mas, MasTec's chief executive, bought a $15 million waterfront lot in Gables Estates in April 2026, per The Real Deal. So the brothers will soon be neighbors.

Where does Jorge Mas live when not in Coral Gables?

No public reporting ties Mas to a home outside Florida. Unlike many South Florida billionaires, he did not arrive from New York or California. He was born in Miami, went to the University of Miami, and built his career here. His public life runs between Coral Gables, the Inter Miami training ground in Fort Lauderdale and MasTec job sites around the country.

The same is true of his real estate. Every purchase and sale in the record over the past decade sits within about ten miles of downtown Miami. If he owns property elsewhere, it has not surfaced in the trade press that covers him closely. Coral Gables is his full-time home by every available measure.

What homes near Jorge Mas cost

Gables Estates is a market of its own. In July 2026 The Real Deal reported a $42 million sale of a waterfront lot there, land once owned by University of Miami presidents. Jose Mas paid $15 million for a lot in April. Finished homes have sold from about $20 million to Mas's $75 million record. Listings inside the gates are rare and often trade off market.

The wider city is far more reachable. Our MLS feed as of September 2026 shows about 440 active listings in Coral Gables. The median asking price is about $2 million, and homes average roughly 130 days on market. Nearby Coconut Grove has about 60 active listings at a median near $3.25 million. Pinecrest has about 170 listings at a median around $5.1 million. Across Miami-Dade County the picture is broader still. Miami proper alone has more than 11,000 active listings.

For sellers, the Mas deals are a useful signal. Record prices in Gables Estates and Cocoplum pull up appraisals across the waterfront section of the Gables. If you own on a canal south of Old Cutler Road, the comps have moved.
