Where Does Melania Trump Live in Florida? Her Palm Beach Home at Mar-a-Lago

Where does Melania Trump live? Her Florida home is the private family residence inside Mar-a-Lago, the historic estate and club in Palm Beach. In October 2025 she filed forms with the Palm Beach County court naming Mar-a-Lago her permanent residence, according to reporting picked up by Yahoo News. As First Lady she also spends time at the White House and at Trump Tower in New York. This post is about her own reported pattern, the house as a home, and the island around it, and nothing else.

Where does Melania Trump live in Florida?

Melania Trump's Florida address is the same as her husband's: Mar-a-Lago, on the south end of Palm Beach island in Palm Beach County. The estate runs from the ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway near the Southern Boulevard bridge. Most of the compound is a private club with dining rooms, guest suites and a ballroom. A separate family residence sits inside it, and that residence is the home in question.

What sets her story apart from the club's is timing. Donald Trump filed his own domicile change in 2019. Melania's came six years later, in October 2025, per the Palm Beach County filing that The Daily Beast reported and Yahoo News republished in January 2026. Until then, press accounts had assumed her main base was Trump Tower in Manhattan.

Pure Equity does not publish private addresses. Mar-a-Lago is a public landmark with a gate on Southern Boulevard, so naming it is not a disclosure. We say nothing about which rooms the family uses beyond what outlets have printed.

Inside the residence at Mar-a-Lago

The house predates the club by decades. Marjorie Merriweather Post built it between 1924 and 1927 as her winter home, and she lived there each season until her death in 1973. Post built it as a residence for herself and her guests. That is why it still works as a home inside a club. Reporting cites 58 bedrooms, dozens of bathrooms, Spanish tile and stone brought from Europe.

The detail that comes up most in coverage of Melania is the tower. Per The Daily Beast, she prefers to sleep in the 75-foot tower of coquina stone and concrete. It sits in a separate wing from the main family quarters. Post's original plans included that tower from the start. Post's builders designed it to draw sea air up through the house before air conditioning existed. Today it is one of several private suites on the property.

The residence has also had renovations for the family more than once. In late 2016, as the family prepared for the first term, People reported work under way on the Trump quarters at Mar-a-Lago. At the same time, Melania looked at Florida schools for their son. That project was about making the estate a livable year-round home rather than a seasonal one.

Why Melania Trump chose Palm Beach

Her reasons, as reported, are family ones. The 2016 school search shows Palm Beach was already the plan for Barron's later years, and reports say he finished high school in the area. The 2025 filing simply formalized where the family's life had settled. CNN described her time at Mar-a-Lago in 2019 as reserved and restful, and later coverage of holidays at the estate fits that picture.

There is also a long tradition behind the choice. Post herself used Mar-a-Lago as a winter home, arriving after the holidays and leaving in spring, and the town's whole calendar still follows that rhythm. The season runs from November to April, when the charity galas, the shops on Worth Avenue and the club dining rooms are all busiest. A First Lady's Florida schedule, as reported, looks a lot like a traditional Palm Beach season.

Palm Beach also suits a schedule that runs between three cities. The estate has its own staff, security perimeter and airport access through Palm Beach International across the bridge. For someone whose days are planned by others, a home that is also a fully staffed compound is practical, whatever else it is.

Where else does Melania Trump live?

Ahead of the 2025 inauguration she told Fox News that she would divide her time among the White House, Trump Tower in New York City and Mar-a-Lago. That is still the reported pattern. Washington is the working base during the term. New York holds the penthouse that was the family's main home before 2019. Palm Beach is the declared residence and the holiday base.

That pattern is common among Palm Beach owners, famous or not. Many keep a working address in New York or Washington and treat the island as the place for holidays and the winter season. The difference here is only scale and security.

Coverage of the last year bears that out. The family spent Christmas 2025 and the first days of January 2026 at Mar-a-Lago, per Yahoo News and AOL. They returned in February for Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day weekend. Those trips are the visible part of a calendar that otherwise stays private.

What homes near Mar-a-Lago cost

The south end of Palm Beach is the island's condo district as much as its estate district. Older oceanfront buildings line the road south of Mar-a-Lago, and they give buyers a way onto the island well below estate prices. Our MLS feed as of September 2026 shows about 272 active listings in Palm Beach. The median list price is near $2.5 million, and the average listing sits about 191 days on market.

Buyers focused on that building stock can start with oceanfront condos across the county and compare them with the island's own inventory. Across the bridge, West Palm Beach lists about 2,200 homes with a median near $310,000, and its downtown has drawn much of the county's new construction. The gap between the two sides of the Intracoastal is the widest in South Florida.
